Action for Blind People's Self Employment advisers offer support to blind and partially sighted entrepreneurs who are looking to establish new businesses or developing business who may be facing specific problems and welcome professional support.
How can Action for Blind People help?
Through the business planning process and one to one support from our advisers, Action for Blind People can help people to decide if self employment is a viable option. If the answer is yes and the business looks viable, then our advisers will provide support in the following areas:-
- Business plan coaching
- Market research and customer profiling
- Identifying training needs (i.e. accessing business courses)
- Accessing funding where possible
- Business advice
- Help with marketing; including promotional flyer design
- Marketing and business development training
- Ongoing mentoring and support
- Networking opportunities
- Advertising
There is also an option of possibly working under the ‘Blind Home workers Scheme’. This particular scheme receives support from local authorities, helping self employed people set up in business.
