New research from Action for Blind People has revealed that one in four people in Great Britain are unaware that an eye test could save their sight. With over half of all sight loss due to preventable or treatable causes we want to make people aware of the importance of a regular eye test and offer some advice and guidance on how to protect your eyes.

An eye test is a full health check for the eyes and could potentially be the difference between having full sight and going blind. As well as detecting problems which can be corrected with glasses, an eye test is about making sure your eyes are healthy and identifying serious eye conditions such as glaucoma.
